Ohio U revives mask mandate for classes, on campus activities

Ohio University updated masking guidelines to require masks in classes starting Monday in an email sent earlier this morning.

Masks will be required for all classes and class-related activities, according to the Ohio U release. This comes as data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates Athens County is currently at a high level of COVID-19 infections.

Exceptions are made for those who have disabilities preventing them from being able to wear a mask, those who need to remove their mask when working with equipment, those who have written exemption from the mask requirements and those who are actively eating or drinking, according to the Ohio U email.

These guidelines are subject to change as the level of COVID-19 infections change, according to Ohio U mask policy.
