Shively Court to be closed indefinitely beginning fall semester 2020

Shively Court dining hall will be closing down indefinitely due to low enrollment forecasts for the 2020 fall semester.

The decision to close the East Green dining hall was made before the novel coronavirus pandemic. Ohio University spokesperson Carly Leatherwood said the university will reassess reopening the dining hall moving forward.

According to Leatherwood, all current staff and students workers who return in the fall will be reassigned to other culinary venues.

This decision comes only two years after the university spent $1.8 million renovating Shively, according a previous report from The New Political.
