Podcast: Athens Happens - A candidate from outside the 15th district

Athens Happens is a weekly news podcast brought to you by reporters at The New Political who are dedicated to explaining the nuances of Athens and state politics.

Listeners can find new episodes every Friday on iTunesSpotify, StitcherYouTubeSoundCloud, or wherever else podcasts can be downloaded.

This week on Athens Happens we discussed a 27-year-old Democrat from central Ohio is running to represent Athens in Congress. If elected, he could become the first openly gay member of Ohio’s congressional delegation. We also discussed Athens’ years-long history of mostly uncontested elections, resulting in a local government perpetually controlled almost entirely by Democrats.
